HERE'S WHAT YOU GET WITH IT:
You should have all the parts necessary to complete this car with what is included in this auction.
The pedal assembly is installed and it's a Jamar. The clutch has been converted over to a hydraulic system with a slave on the transaxle. The brakes are now a dual reservoir system which is what you need on any VW disk brake conversion.
The upholstery has been recently made for the car and not yet installed. The seat covers were installed and then removed to get the correct amount of foam backing attached to the seat shells.
The original VIN plate from Quint is included as well as the 917 badges for the car. I am selling this car as parts. There is no title and the original MCO has been lost over the years. You will get a bill of sale with this purchase. Obtaining a title once the car is finished is no big deal, just keep all your receipts.
I also have the original build manual from Quint with just tons of huge illustrations. That alone is a very cool find.
The wiring loom is in place on the car with the wires routed to where they need to go. That was done by the person that I bought it from and it looks decent. It will have to be finished by it's new owner.
The car is fitted with a simple fuel cell located in front of the engine. It's new.
The door pulls, headlights, and nerf bars have rust on them from sitting. I had planned to sand or blast them off and wrinkle finish paint them.
The support struts, hinges, lap belts, weather stripping, lenses for all the lights, as well as light fixtures are included.
All the lexan glass for the car is new and unused. The small rear cockpit glass and windshield are heavy glass and are not new. The windshield has 2 gaskets that go with it, one is good, one is not. The front glass comes from an Opel GT I am told.
The dash and console are loaded with both conventional gauges and LED digital gauges.
The wheels are a centerline style made by American Racing. They need a good cleaning. The tires are 245/60/15 and can't have many if any miles on them. The tread surface looks great.
Seats are bolted in and are on adjustable seat tracks.

Some observations of the car:
Offered for sale is a unique opportunity to finish this unique car the way you see fit.
The chassis is custom built using 2X5 steel channel with a steel plate floor. This is not some back yard piece of junk. Exact attention to detail and strength was exercised to accomplish this. It is fitted with a VW front beam that is in excellent condition with an upgraded front disk brake assembly. The transaxle is also VW and currently the engine is also very good running VW with a new Solex carb.
My original plan was to take a Chevy Vortech V-6, put an Edelbrock intake and Holley carb on it and mate it with a Kennedy adapter plate to the VW Transmission. This would create a ton of power for this car as well as making the installation of A\C very simple. The current engine runs fine but as I had no intent on using it with this particular build, I did not rebuild it. Included in this auction is a 1994 Chevy Blazer with a good running V-6 that has a bad fuel distributor.
The orginal fiberglass was created by Quint industries and the quality is the best that I have seen and I have seen a few. It has been painted once but has nicks and scratches throughout and really needs to be redone. I have already pulled all the parts that I think would be in the way and it would be super simple in it's present state to finish.
Included in the photos are a few shots of the car up on the lift to better illustrate the workmanship of this chassis.
Note: This car has not been driven and needs to be finished. I am describing this vehicle to the best of my knowledge. If you don't think that you have what it takes to finish it. DON'T BUY IT.
We have a small staff and build replica's here for our customers. We have come across a very uinique car that has just slammed us with orders and we have no space or time to finish this car. This project was selfish on my behalf as I just always wanted one, but we are a year back logged on customer build orders for the little roadster pictured above. At this rate, I will never get to this 917 build.
Finished, this car could be a real show stopper. Most of the really hard work has been done and now needs finishing work. Use the V-6 to make a real beast or keep it VW and start driving it even sooner.
